Q. HOW MUCH NOTICE DO I NEED TO GIVE TO BOOK A FUNCTION?
Depending on the scope of the function, we can prepare with only 24 hours or less notice, however most functions can be booked within 7 days prior to your function day. Obviously the more notice we have, the greater our opportunity to discuss in in-depth detail all aspects of your function requirements including food options, staffing, equipment and so on thereby ensuring total satisfaction.

Q. DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?
No. As a general rule we do not take deposits even though we have taken your booking.

Q. WHAT HAPPENS IF I BOOK A FUNCTION AND THEN DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES I NEED TO CANCEL?
Each circumstance is treated on its merits however we do not as a matter of course seek compensation for cancellations. If practicable, we would ask that you provide us with at least 72 hours prior notice if you intend cancelling your booking.

Q. HOW DO I PAY?
Payment can be made any number of ways. We accept cheque payment, direct deposit, internet banking as well as most major credit cards

Q. WHEN IS PAYMENT REQUIRED?
As part of our ongoing commitment in ensuring total customer satisfaction, FIRST CHOICE GOURMET CATERING will endeavour to contact you within 24 hours after the function to discuss all aspects of your function including our service and food. Payment terms are on receipt of invoice.

Q. DO YOU PROVIDE AN INVOICE?
Yes. FIRST CHOICE GOURMET CATRERING will provide you with a fully itemised Tax Invoice in line with the quotation given.

Q. ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN COSTS?
No. Invoice value will be as discussed and will be in line with the quotation given. GST component is also shown.

Q. AM I ABLE TO MIX SELECTIONS FROM THE OTHER MENUS?
Yes. FIRST CHOICE GOURMET CATERING provides a fully flexible approach to your catering requirements. Not only are you able to select your choices from any of our menus, we are also happy to add items that you may specifically require but which are not included in our menus.

Q. ARE WE ABLE TO USE OUR OWN DESSERTS / CAKES RATHER THAN YOURS?
Yes, of course. All our menus are priced with and without dessert to allow you the flexibility of choosing only what you require.

Q. HOW DO YOU DETERMINE THE STAFFING REQUIRENTS FOR OUR FUNCTION?
This will be discussed in detail with you and is dependent obviously on the type of function you are having, your guest numbers and also what level of service you require. For example we have our own chefs, supervisors, kitchen hands, food waiting staff as well as drink stewards available to meet all your needs.

Q. DO I NEED TO HAVE YOUR STAFF IN ATTENDANCE?
No. If you are able to and have your own resources available to look after the food, we can drop the food off to you at a prearranged time and in such a way that your involvement and preparation time is considerably minimised.

Q. DO YOU PROVIDE ALL THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR OUR FUNCTION?
Most of what is required to look after and cater your function is provided. However as each function is individual we will discuss all aspects of your requirements before hand to ensure that nothing is overlooked. FIRST CHOICE GOURMET CATERING will be pleased to discuss setting up requirements, venue preparation and equipment needs such as glasses, crockery, cutlery, chairs, tables, linen, marquees and / or any other items.

Q. WHAT ABOUT ENTERTAINMENT?
Live music or other forms of entertainment can also be arranged to suit any mood or taste.

Q. HOW LONG WILL THE STAFF REMAIN AT OUR FUNCTION?
This will be discussed with you beforehand however we do not stipulate any specific duration, rather we allow you to control the time frame that you require our services. At all times we approach each function with total flexibility and the control of cost is totally with you.

Q. WHAT DO WE NEED TO PROVIDE FOR YOU TO PREPARE FOOD ON OUR PREMISES?
The only requirement is your oven and hot plates. Everything else we provide. If your oven is unavailable, then we will bring in our own portable oven to supplement the heating / cooking requirements.

Q. DO THE STAFF CLEAN UP AFTER THEY FINISH?
Yes. Your kitchen will be returned to you in a spotless condition. We even bring out our own tea towels, washing up equipment, bin liners and so on.

Q. WHAT EQUIPMENT CAN YOU PROVIDE?
China crockery, stainless steel cutlery, hot water urn, drink trays, jugs, buffet tables, outdoor chairs, platters, table cloths, hot air blowers, barbeques, spits, bain maries, steamers, electric frypans, deep fryers, gas hot boxes and many more

Q. WHAT HAPPENS IF WE ARE STILL USING YOUR EQUIPMENT AND IT’S TIME FOR YOUR STAFF TO DEPART?
Equipment still in use by you and your guests is left with you. Arrangements will be made to pick up the equipment at some point in time either the next day or when mutually convenient.

Q. IS THERE ANY ADDITIONAL PICK UP OR DROP OFF / TRANSPORTATION COST FOR THIS EQUIPMENT?
Not for any equipment provided by FIRST CHOICE GOURMET CATERING. Equipment hired in from a third party (HIRE COMPANY) however, will invariably have a delivery and pick up charge and sometimes erection charge added to the hire cost which is usually agreed to at the time the equipment is hired.

Q. IF WE PROVIDE THE DRINKS ON THE NIGHT ARE YOUR STAFF ABLE TO SERVE THESE?
Absolutely. The type of service you require and the duration will be discussed in detail with you beforehand including any setting up requirements. FIRST CHOICE GOURMET CATERING is committed to providing you with full peace of mind.

Q. HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU NEED TO SET UP?
As each function is individual we will discuss this in detail with you but generally no more than 15 minutes to half an hour for a finger food function and slightly longer for any form of sit down occasion. We do endeavour to minimise the set up time and if required we can have most of the equipment required for your function delivered to your venue some 24 hours to 48 hours before the event. This is to provide sufficient time with your planning and setting up needs.

Q. DO YOUR STAFF WEAR UNIFORMS?
Our corporate colours are black and white. Our staff also wear aprons and white cotton gloves when serving food and drinks.
